Spot The Dot X Willpower Running

Skincancer awareness meets straight edge running culture
This clip is based on a poem I wrote last year
"Wake me when the day is gone"
I love the sounds when I’m alone,
wake me when the day is gone.
I hear my breath & see the wind,
I see the cold on my skin.
I hear leafs & branches,
I see in the dark.
I hear boulders turn around,
I see the old mark.
I hear deers & foxes hiding,
I see the darkness how it
seeks & finds me.

Spot the Dot and the running clothing brand Willpower, team up to raise awareness of skin cancer with the ”The Night Runners” collection. A design inspired by Patti Smith’s song “Because the night (belongs to lovers)” and by the fact that there are many ways we can protect our skin from sun damage, such as running in hours when UV rates are low. We hope the garment functions as a conversation starter to encourage fellow runners to do self-exams for early detection of skin cancer. A SHORT MOVIE
Filmmaker Manuel Peric went out into the mountains to capture the poetic mood of the night runner in the short movie entitled `Wake me when the day is gone`.

A GOOD CAUSE
Of every sold “The Night Runners” shirt, €10,- will go to the NGO Spot the Dot, and will be used to continue raising awareness of skin cancer. Buy the collection here: https://www.willpower-running.com/pag...

SOMETHING MUST BE (RUN)DONE
Each year more and more people are diagnosed with melanoma and other types of skin cancer. Skin cancer is meanwhile in the top 3 of the most common cancer types amongst young adults. Many people don’t take measures to prevent skin cancer and don’t check changes on their skin, while early detection can be crucial.
